Bowls SA seeking Board Members

Bowls South Australia Incorporated (BSA) is the peak body for Bowls in South Australia and is affiliated with Bowls Australia.

BSA is a not-for-profit association, comprising of affiliated clubs, life members, registered athletes and technical members (coaches and officials). BSA is governed by a Board of Management (Board) and administered by BSA Staff.

Our purpose is to grow Bowls in South Australia, support the 216 affiliated clubs and their members so, together we promote the benefits of physical and social activity in Lawn Bowls within local community.
About the Roles:
Following the completion of terms for some of the Board, BSA is seeking to appoint two new Board members to complement and extend the skills and capacities of the current Board. Individuals with prior board experience and/or those who have completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Company Directors Course will be highly regarded. Specific experience we are seeking for incoming board members includes:

·       Finance

·       Legal

·       Government

·       Sport

The Board is responsible for the governance of BSA, its strategic development and growth. The key roles of the BSA Board include:

• Formulating and implementing goals and strategic direction

• Approving the budget and all major items of capital expenditure

• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements

• Ensuring the financial viability of the organisation

Currently, this voluntary Board meets at least 6 times a year for approximately 120 minutes at our Holdfast Bay offices, with various sub-committee meetings as required. We expect Board members to be available and actively participate in all Board related activities.
