Future Stars 1 Champions 24-25

2024-25 Future Stars Tournament 1 Champions

by Marketing on July 12, 2024

Our state’s future stars congregated at Playford Bowling club on July 11 and 12 during the school holidays to compete in the Future Stars Tournament 1.

With many new faces out on the green, the tournament is an opportunity to play in a fun, friendly and junior oriented environment where juniors can make new friends and gain the skills, experience and confidence to play more pennant, state events and in the U18 State Championships.

The two day tournament, which consisted of pairs and triples, unveiled new talent including seven individuals from the Inter School Challenge who took to the greens in their first bowls tournament. All entries into the tournament are single entries, with Bowls SA creating compatible teams. New bowlers are welcome to come with a friend and we will ensure they are together and accompanied by an experienced bowler.

Day one contested the pairs with 24 juniors joining forces. With tough games throughout the day, two teams walked away with 4 wins each. The pair of Jayden Green and Noah Phillips ended the day with a greater margin to walk away the winners, leaving Kodi Johnson and Kobe Jarman runners up for the tournament. The team of Skye Wilson and Tahlia Stringer finished with 2 wins and a draw to earn third place.

The tournament is flexible to suit availability and provides the option to compete in either day or both. The majority of juniors returned for day two accompanied by new bowlers to compete in a triples format.

The team of Noah Green / Ryan Hill / Kobe Jarman won all four of their games, making them the undisputed winners on day two. Three teams finished the day on 3 wins, forcing a count back on shot different to decide the next place getters. The combination of Arthur Suri / Elliot Webster-Brown / Charlie Hicks ended the day with a greater margin to secure runners ups. Whilst, Andrew Lucas / Callan Shepherd / Cameron Jamison secure third place.

The placegetters from the pairs and triples were awarded gift vouchers for the Modbury Pro Shop. We look forward to seeing these bowlers out on the green with some new equipment.

Bowls SA would like to thank the Playford Bowling club and their much valued volunteers for hosting this event.

The Future Stars Tournament 2 will be held during the Term 3 Holidays on 3 and 4 October 2024.
