Riverland event caps off Senior Supa Series season

The 2022 Riverland Senior Supa Series got underway this week with players heading to Berri Bowling Club and Waikerie Bowling Club for this three-day action packed event.

Berri hosted 18 teams to start the series on Monday, with all winners taking out three wins each.

Taking out third place was the Bordertown team of Issy Belluzzo, Brian Paech, Richard Muenster and Wayne Wiese with +20 shots.

Only narrowly taking out second place with +21 shots was the team of Chris Nicholls (Berri), Ken Carpenter (Berri), Di Milner (Wallaroo) and Kerry Treloar (Berri).

Emerging victorious on day one with +28 shots was the composite team consisting of Brenton Brown (Nuriootpa), Christos Karantonis (Barmera), Ron Reynolds (Barmera) and Neil Rogers (Riverton).

The teams made their way down to Waikerie Bowling Club for day two of the Senior Supa Series.

The day’s top teams came away with four wins and our third place winners came away with three wins.

In third place was the combination of Brenton Brown (Nuriootpa), Christos Karantonis (Barmera), Ron Reynolds (Barmera) and Neil Rogers (Riverton) with +20 shots.

In second place was the experienced Laura team of Ron Hannan, Pat Hannan, Geoff Brand and Garry Smith with +27 shots.

After another big day of bowls, the team of Joe Conte (Lobethal), Noel Kneebone (Murray Bridge RSL), Neville Mansell (Lobethal) and Tony Treloar (Ascot Park) overcame strong competition to take the daily win with +38 shots.

Teams then headed back to Waikerie for day three of the series.

The day’s winners came away with three wins and a draw to wrap up the series.

In third place was the Wallaroo team of Neville Hards, Terri Schultz, Ann Robinson and Kevin Robinson with three wins and +28 shots.

Coming in second place with three wins and a draw with +12 shots was the team of Brian Leckie (Murray Bridge), Len Grommers (Jervois), Graham Rolton (Murray Bridge) and Ian Oats (Murray Bridge).

Finishing off the series victorious, with three wins and a draw and +28 shots, was the team of Joe Conte (Lobethal), Noel Kneebone (Murray Bridge RSL), Neville Mansell (Lobethal) and Tony Treloar (Ascot Park).
