2023-24 FIVEaa Night Owls Champions
Over 130 social bowlers from across South Australia converged on the Hawthorn Bowling Club this afternoon for the Night Owls State Finals.
34 teams of four players enjoyed the camaraderie with their friends and jovial spirited banter between teams. The weather was kind with blue skies and sunshine to top off an awesome day.
Teams played three matches each during the afternoon to determine playoff standings, before finals matches were played to determine the final placings.
Mallee Suns held their nerve in a walkover to claim victory over Henley Surf Boys to clinch this year’s state final. The team of Josh Porker / Chad Nassif / Shilo Dabinett / Rory O’Driscoll won all 3 of their matches 10-7, 18-0, 14-3 with 3 wins at 32 shots up.
Henley Surf Boys team of Warren Williams / Graham Gepp / Anthony West / Aaron Lewis scored 19-5, 12-2, 9-5 with 3 wins at 28 shots up.
The Stretches team of Mark Shepperd / Jules Pellizer / Hayden Perry / Mark Shepperd / Rob Perry scored 8-7, 8-7, 11-1 with 3 wins at 12 shots up.
