Craig Mills and Laini McGorman took to the Sorrento greens this month, at the beginning of the Bowls Australia 2023 Nationals in Perth, up against Australia’s best in the Champion of Champions Singles.

At the halfway mark with 4 games under their belt, including 1 bye, Craig sat at 2 wins and a loss, and Laini undefeated with 3 wins against Cassandra Millerick (Moama, VIC), Rae Simpson (Kings Meadows, TAS) and Elisa Rigoni (Darwin, NT).

To follow for Laini was a top of the table clash where Laini felt the brunt of the finesse of Samantha Ferguson (Engadine, NSW) who then went on to defeat Laini in this match 21 to 16 shots.

After 6 games and losing just one match, Laini added the sports pinnacle national event to her already impressive CV by winning the Australian Women’s Singles Champion of Champions, on an incredible 15 points!

Craig Mills suffered 2 very close losses to end up 4th on the ladder with a commendable 3 wins against Scott Dagwell (Queanbeyan, ACT), Brenton Coad (Victoria, VIC) and Glen Pitts (Algester, QLD).
