Hahndorf Bowling Club’s slice of history

Hahndorf Bowling Club made its own history with both its Division One teams winning the Hills Bowls Association’s Wednesday and Saturday premierships. 

This has never been achieved in history of the club. 

Both grand finals went down to the last end, with Hahndorf defeating Lobethal in both matches, with the scores being 61-59 and 65-61 respectively.

The Wednesday team finished the minor round in second position, while the Saturday team fourth. 

Both teams worked their way into the Grand Final with strong wins in their respective preliminary final matches.

Further club history was made when Sue Hutchinson and husband Rob won their respective Champion of Champions Singles Finals in the Hills Bowls Association. 

Sue also paired with Sue Maddern to win their Champion of Champions Pairs Final and the pair went on to win the Regional Pairs Final.

Club president Chris Button stated that it was “a great credit to all members, only fifty strong, to achieve such outstanding results”.
