About the Role:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sponsorship & Grants Officer will provide leadership and direction in the areas of sponsorship, grants and corporate events.
A focus of the role will be servicing existing sponsors, securing new partners and sponsors and commercial revenues for the organisation as well as implementing and managing new commercial opportunities as they arise.
As well as possessing suitable qualifications or experience in corporate relations, the ideal candidate will have proven business skills in creating and nurturing relationships with sponsors and stakeholders.
The role will suit an engaging go getter, with the ability to inspire and manage multiple projects and initiatives.
Collaboration with stakeholders across the bowls network will also be a key focus of this position.
Specific Qualities:
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing partners and sponsors.
- Research, identify and cultivate new sponsors with an emphasis on growth.
- Update and maintain current sponsorship database.
- Develop and produce the sponsorship prospectus for the Bowls SA events, and or partnership proposals for all events.
- Explore new sponsorship opportunities.
- Maintain regular contact with all contracted sponsors and partners.
- Manage all aspects of the sponsorship contracts in the lead up to, events.
- Develop an on-site sponsorship plan.
- Follow up (face-to-face, email, phone) with all sponsors post event to gain feedback and continue relationships.
- Identify, research and oversee the seeking of relevant grants for Bowls SA and Member Clubs.
- Reporting and compliance.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills:
- Demonstrated experience in an end-to-end sponsorship role
- Proven record of achieving sponsorship sales targets
- Maintaining high relationships with existing sponsors
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and autonomously with a sense of drive and motivation
- Commitment and passion for providing excellent customer service
- Ability to prioritise daily tasks
- Ability for forward planning and following timelines
- Solutions focussed thinking
- A high level of knowledge of the Microsoft Package software – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
- Experience with Zoom and Teams
- Networking, LinkedIn and other forums
- Uphold a strict level of confidentiality
- An understanding of sports administration and experience in dealing with volunteers will also be an advantage.
A competitive salary is on offer. Headquartered in Glenelg North, this 0.6 FTE, 12-month role may include occasional travel.
