2021 Australian Indoor Championship Qualifying

Bowls SA is pleased to announce details for the 2021 Australian Indoor Qualifying in South Australia. There will be one qualifying position up for grabs from the Men’s and Women’s draws that will compete at the Australian Indoor Championships to be held at Tweed Heads Bowling Club from August 16th – 19th.

This year the qualifying events will be held at the Torrensville and Salisbury Bowling Club on the 29th and 30th of May. Saturday 29th will see sectional play, with the section winners to then progress through to knockouts on Sunday 30th May.

Entries will close at 5 pm on the 16th of May.

 Players that qualify for the Finals in August will need to cover their own flights and accommodation costs.

Format of play: The format of play will be singles – four bowls, 2 sets of nine ends with a three end tie-breaker played if required to reflect the format of the national competition.

Time Limits: Time limits will not apply to any matches.

Respotting the Jack: As per law 56.5 in the Laws of the Sport of Bowls, there will be no dead ends. Instead, the jack will be re-spotted in accordance with Law 56.5.3 (that is, with the nearest point of the jack to the mat line at a spot on the rink which is 2 metres from the front ditch and on the centre line) and play should continue.
