Singles champion crowned

The 2023 MGA Women’s Country Carnival singles champion was crowned today after a big day at the Salisbury Bowling Club.

Y. Kelly, of Mallala, defeated K. Kneebone, of Murray Bridge RSL, by four shots in their semi-final, while Kapunda’s K. Green took down Barmera’s J. Gartner by just two shots in a thrilling contest.

The final was one way traffic, with Green putting together a dominant display to defeat Kelly by 14 shots and clinch the title.

K. Kneebone, of Murray Bridge RSL (pictured right) and J. Gartner, of Barmera agreed to not play and split third.

Tomorrow will see the semi-finals and finals for the pairs and fours held at the Marion Bowling Club.
