Hicks and Kelly are State Fours Champions
Sunday 21st February saw the State Fours for 2020/21 come to an end, with three rounds of fantastic finals matches all played at Marion Bowling Club.
The morning kicked off with the Final 8 matches, with some great match up across the board in both the men’s and women’s competitions.
With the semi finalists locked in after lunch, in the ladies the team of Kotz had a big win over the Thulborn team, while the team of Kelly came away on top after a tough battle against the Onto team from Hawthorn.
While on the men’s side of the competition, we saw two great matches, with the team of Hicks and Halls teams coming out on top in their semi finals.
The finals kicked off and the men had a close battle all the way to the last end, which saw Charlie Hicks’ team come out on top in the last end to win 14-13 over Ashley Halls’ team.
Winners: Bradley Joseph, Matthew Sexton, Alister Behenna and Charlie Hicks (Adelaide)
Runners-up: Sam Katsivas, Bradley Jansen, Theo Katsivas and Ashley Halls (Lockleys)
Equal Third: Ian Williams, Eric Pitt, Lindsay Noll and David O’Shaughnessy (Naracoorte) & Mark Hanrahan, George Esca, Karl Kreuzer and Mike Haywood (Woodville).
Over in the ladies’ side, it was a one sided game with Yvonne Kelly’s team from Mallala coming out on top over Jodi Kotz’s team.
Winners: Bev Roney, Maureen Pisano, Joylene Milton and Yvonne Kelly (Mallala)
Runners-up: Karin Lynch, Kate Argent-Bowden, Cath Greenslade and Jodi Kotz (Keith)
Equal Third: Leanne Owen, Maggie Forbes, Christine Keller and Anne Onto (Hawthorn) & Lyn Prosso, Vicki Arbon, Sue Coultas and Christine Thulborn (Adelaide)
