Internal belief is the key message for South Australia’s Senior Women’s Team this October, as it prepares to go to Perth for the Australian Senior Sides Championships from October 10-13 at the Osborne Park Bowling Club.

With Faye Anderson stepping into the role as team manager, and Sharon Cavanagh and Katie Gunning in the side for the first time, the experienced Anderson is happy with her selected squad.

“We’ll have our challenges, but I have every confidence that our team is going to gel well together, and do the best they can for South Australia, and do themselves proud,” she said.

“Sharon comes up from the Open side, and we’ve got Katie as well who will be looking to make an impact from her opportunity.

“It’s an extremely tough task to pick the team that we did, however, we are very positive about encouraging people to come for trials and put their best foot forward.

“It’s heartwarming that people want to play for their state and they are so positive about it.

“We’ve got a vast amount of experience, with the likes of Beth Quinlan and Renata Callisto, who can complement our younger players.

“We want people to adapt quickly, and compatibility is so important because we have our challenges right from the start with some tough opponents.”
