BOWLS IS BACK — AND IT’S NEVER LOOKED LIKE THIS!
Bowls SA launches the Premier League Showcase: five matches, one night, one venue. South Australia’s sport of the summer just changed the game.
ADELAIDE, SA — Bowls SA today announced the inaugural Premier League Gather Round — a landmark night in the history of South Australian sport that will open the 2026-27 Bowls SA Premier League season in a way the sport has never seen before.
On Friday 6th November 2026, ten of South Australia’s premier bowls clubs will descend on Marion Bowling Club for a simultaneous five-match shotgun start under lights, in front of the biggest crowd ever assembled for a regular season pennant bowls event in the state. Doors open at 5pm with games expected to finish by 10pm.
Not your average night of bowls – this is the Premier League Gather Round!
An air-horn will kick off all five matches to begin at once. Ten clubs. One enormous venue. The kind of Adelaide night that can’t be missed!
Gather Round takes direct inspiration from the sporting world’s most electric single-venue round formats — and delivers it entirely on bowls terms. Bringing everything that comes with a Friday night out: BBQ, raffles, music, and the unmistakable buzz of a crowd that came to watch something new.
Bowls SA CEO Louise McDermott said the Showcase marks a turning point for the sport in South Australia.
“The Premier League was built to show what bowls can be at its best — elite, fast, and genuinely exciting to watch. Gather Round puts that ambition on the biggest possible stage. We want people who’ve never set foot on a bowling green to get down on the 6th and leave as fans. This is the start of something new”
ONE CLUB. ONE NIGHT.
Ten of the state’s most competitive Premier League clubs across five blockbuster opening round fixtures:
- Marion Vs Edwardstown
- Ascot Park Vs Hawthorn
- Adelaide Vs Modbury
- Grange Vs Millswood
- Somerton Vs Port Norlunga
Whether you’re from the south, the north, the inner suburbs or the coast — come out and support your club. Spectators are encouraged to bring friends, family!
WHAT TO EXPECT
– 5:00pm — Gates open. The bar is open. BBQs, music
– 6:00pm — Simultaneous air-horn start across all five matches

The night is proudly supported by partners Aero Bowls, Coopers, Radiology SA, Chain of Ponds, Gomersal Wines and Angas & Bremer.
