Berri Barmera Senior Supa Series a success

by Marketing on May 6, 2021

The Berri Barmera Senior Supa Series event held earlier this week has been labelled a success.

24 teams took part in each day of the two-day event, with competitors coming from across the state to play and enjoy the Riverland.

The first day on Monday was held at the Berri Bowling Club, with the team of Polly Mansel, Geoff Coultas, Sue Coultas and Peter Gageler claiming overall victory.

David Morley, Jenny Morley, George Genoff and Glen Johns took second place, while Sam Katsivas, Peter Crouch, Doc Buttfield and Ken Sherry rounded out the top three.

Competition then moved to Barmera the following day, Chris Nichols, Ken Stokes, Kerry Treloar and Dennis Treloar finishing the day on top.

Neville Jenke, Steve Eichenberger, Claire Eichenberger and Debbie Dennis teamed up to finish second, while the day one winners Coultas, Mansel, Coultas and Gageler took out third spot.

Last weekend also saw officials accreditation and re-accreditation courses held, while an officials skills refresher session was held on Monday night.

A Bowlslink information session was also hosted on Wednesday morning.

Bowls SA would like to thank Di Milner for heading up to the Riverland with Jessica Alvaro to assist with the officials accreditation, re-accreditation and skills refresher sessions.

A big thank you also to both the host clubs for the Senior Supa Series, and to the clubs who hosted the other courses and sessions.

Bowls SA would like to thank all members in the Riverland and the rest of the community for their fantastic hospitality over the few days.
