2024-25 Multi-Disability Singles Champions
Over the weekend at Playford Bowling Club, women and men from all across South Australia competed with one goal in mind to be crowned the State Multi-Disability ID and Para Singles Champions.
The ID singles field consisted of 7 bowlers, forming two sections that were played on Saturday 10 May. With a thrilling final between Jarrad Olsen (Balaklava) and Lachlan Wurst (Saddleworth) lined up to be played on Sunday 11 May, everyone asked the question – could Jarrad claim the title for the fourth consecutive year? The answer is simple with a strong campaign which lead to an 21-3 win – Yes he can!

The Para Singles competition saw 16 bowlers battle it out in sectional play on Saturday. The section winners would all progress to the Semi Finals on Sunday. With all section winners having a flawless run it came to a countback on shot difference to determine the Semi Final match ups. Finishing first ranked by one shot Charles Lang-Ashe (Playford) versed 4th ranked John Swarbrick (Port Noarlunga). In a thrilling match Charles made his way to the final for the second year in a row with a 21-14 win. On the other side of the draw, Tom Gibbs (Victor Harbor) versed first time entry Susan Kruger (Monash) which was a showcase of superb bowls, with Tom taking the win 21-8.
With the stage set for the big dance, Charles was determined to do one better than last year earning himself an 8-0 lead. With grit and determination the two-time champion Tom Gibbs earned his way back in the game. Charles finished his campaign earning the championship with a 21-9 win.
