2024-25 State Champions Crowned
The state finals for the 2024-25 season took place at Holdfast Bay Bowling Club from 31 March to 4 April, with games happening during the day and night. South Australia’s best bowlers competed all week to win championship titles!
Paladin State Singles Champions
In a closely contested match Women’s Singles Championship, Anda Panchawat of Port Noarlunga Bowling Club showcased skill and determination but was ultimately defeated by Yvonne Kelly from Mallala Bowling Club.
Kelly claimed victory with a final score of 21 shots to 15, securing the trophy in this prestigious competition. Both players delivered impressive performances, with several ends coming down to precise shot placement and tactical play.

The State Men’s Singles final got off to a dramatic start as Jonathan Voigt of Adelaide Bowling Club surged ahead with an 8-0 lead after just two ends.
Despite a determined comeback from Ashley Halls of Lockleys Bowling Club, Voigt maintained his composure under pressure and held on to claim a hard-fought 21-18 victory, securing the prestigious state title. The match drew plenty of attention from spectators, with both players showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the contest.

State Pairs Champions
In a tightly contested Women’s State Pairs Championship match, Raelene Heitmann and Vicki Arbon from Modbury Bowling Club claimed victory over Sally Denton and Beth Quinlan of Ascot Park Bowling Club. The Modbury duo edged out their opponents with a hard-fought 18-14 win, showcasing skill and composure under pressure to secure the championship title.
With momentum shifting throughout the match, Heitmann and Arbon’s ability to deliver in crucial moments ultimately proved the difference.

State Fours Champions
In a thrilling showdown at the Women’s Fours, the team of Michaela Massey (Nuriootpa Bowling Club), Hanika Booth (Nuriootpa Bowling Club), Tamzin Jenke (Payneham Bowling Club), and Sheridon Bodnar (Adelaide Bowling Club) emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle against the quartet of Mia Baldey, Sally Denton, Christine Thulborn, and Beth Quinlan.
The closely contested final saw both sides showcase exceptional skill and strategy, with momentum shifting throughout the match. In the end, it was the Bodnar-led team that held their nerve in the decisive moments, securing a narrow 12-10 win to claim the championship title.

State Mixed Pairs Champions
The State Championship Mixed Pairs final saw a dominant performance from the duo of Jackie Hayes (Crystal Brook Bowling Club) and John Pengilly (Auburn Bowling Club Inc) as they powered past Erin O’Malley and Joshua Porker (both from Karoonda District Bowling Club) with a commanding 20-6 victory.
From the outset, Hayes and Pengilly took control, displaying precision and consistency that kept their opponents on the back foot. Despite the best efforts of the Karoonda pairing, the Hayes/Pengilly team maintained their momentum to secure an emphatic win and claim the championship title in style.
