Women ready for action packed finals week
Bowls SA’s finals week is rapidly approaching in what is set to be a thrilling climax to a big season of state events.
The action kicks off on Saturday with the State Pairs final 16 and quarter finals, before another seven days of action following on will see winners crowned in the pairs, Sports Centre State Singles and Champion of Champion singles and pairs.
Adelaide’s Laini McGorman, who is in the final 16 for the Sports Centre women’s State Singles and State Pairs, said she is feeling good heading into a big week of bowls.
“I’m really looking forward to getting on the beautiful grass greens at Lockleys and having a crack at defending the singles titles and also both pairs events as well,” she said.
“I feel confident that if I bring my A game, I can go deep and hopefully come away with a title or two.
“I am excited to spend the week on great greens at the time of year they run the best.
“We couldn’t get a better setting to showcase our state’s finest.”
Clare’s Glenys Pierce, who will also take part in the final 16 of the women’s singles, said she is “excited to be part of the week” and hopes to “be competitive and enjoy the experience”.
