Two of Moonta’s best
On Sunday 20th September, Spring Carnival, the Moonta Bowling Club held it’s Opening Ceremony for the bowling year. Highlight of proceedings were the presentation of Life Membership to 2 of its Members. Recipients were Rob Ryan & Howard Andrew.
Rob joined the Club in 2003 after retiring to Moonta. On the green Rob has been a prominent pennant bowler playing in one Division 1 pennant winning side and 3 Division 2 winners. Of the green Rob has made his mark as an outstanding administrator completing 10 years as Secretary in 2018/2019. He was responsible for bringing many International, National, State & Regional events to Moonta, as well as overseeing club extensions in 2010-2011 and upgrading the constitution in 2015.
Howard (Harry) has been a proficient and consistent Division 1 bowler over many years. He has been part of at least 8 Moonta winning pennant sides. It is also off the green where Howard has made an outstanding contributions as a volunteer. Firstly as Vice President, President & Past President. He has also been Bar Manager at the Club for past 10 years up to the current time. In this role Howard work time hours would be equivalent to a full time job.
