Thrilling Victories at the 2024-25 Champion of Champion Singles Finals
The greens came alive over the weekend of May 3–4 as South Australia’s top club champions clashed in a fierce battle for the prestigious 2024–25 Champion of Champions Singles title. Hosted at various metropolitan clubs, the finals at Hawthorn Bowling Club delivered gripping contests, unpredictable conditions, and standout performances that kept spectators on edge.
In the Women’s final, Katrina Green of Kapunda Bowling Club edged out Karen Gatto from West Lakes in a tightly fought 21 shots to 17 victory under blustery conditions. Both players showcased incredible consistency and composure, with Green pulling ahead in the final ends after a neck-and-neck battle.

Meanwhile, in the Men’s final, Max Kleinig of Port Noarlunga overcame Garry Smith of Laura Bowling Club 21 shots to 14 in a thrilling showdown that proved far closer than the scoreboard suggests. With momentum swinging end to end, Kleinig’s late surge sealed the win in what was arguably the match of the tournament.
