The Seniors Supa Series Straight Drive into Tatiara

by Isaac Trenorden on November 15, 2022

A beautiful two-and-a-half-hours drive from Adelaide and you will find yourself in many great South Australian hotspots, however 28 teams saw themselves in Keith, coming from all over our great state.

The Keith Bowling Club was fantastically accommodating with great lunches, morning and afternoon snacks and a dinner to assist those travellers with their Monday night dinner worries.

A great split between local players and travellers saw the first day of play finish with two, four game winners and four, three game winners resulting in rather tight placings. Cool, wet and windy conditions on Keith’s quick carpet saw third place getters Steven Jones, Royce Wilson, Peter Crouch and Ken Sherry finish with 3 wins and +17 shots. Coming in at second was four game winners Sam Katsivas, Steven Wright, Geoff Coultas and Sue Coultas finishing day one with +15 shots. Looking like a metro clean sweep, the Bordertown rink of Peter Grosser, Michael Kerber, Izzy Belluzo and Craig Sutton finished the day with four wins and a whopping +28 shots, seeing them take first place.

Day Two saw those who braved the cold on Day One back for a slightly warmer, less windy and rain free day. The local team of Helen Lynch, Joan Prosser, Heather Richards and Patrick Lynch started the day off with a 20-13 win, before finishing the day with just one loss resulting in a finish with 3 wins and +15 shots to collect third place. Just one shot ahead of third place, with 3 wins and +16 was the Murray Bridge team of Gommers, Shilton, Leckie and Traeger. Coming in hot from third place on day one and finishing the day with 3 wins and a draw, +33 shots were Steven Jones, Royce Wilson, Peter Crouch and Ken Sherry.
