The Mallee Pirates pulled off the upset of the season, defeating the ladder leading Northern Knights at Modbury.

A 15-shot victory by Simon Dorr, of the Pirates, over Will McPharlin, of the Knights, laid the platform for the Pirates, while Jeff Davis and Gary Meekcoms also scored a three-shot win over Luke Pietersma and Nathan Pedersen in the pairs.

Kane Coulls, Todd Brand and Jack Trenorden were able to salvage some points for the previously undefeated Knights, as they scored a 12-shot win over John Nicolai, Ross McConnell and Jackson Saunders in the triples.

The Knights won the reserves clash, while the Pirates’ under 21s continued their strong form with a one-shot win.

The much-anticipated match of the round saw the Western Rogues defeat the Central Chargers at Holdfast Bay.

The Rogues also claimed victory in the reserves and under 21s matches.

The Eastern Raiders jumped to equal first on the ladder with a win over the Heysen Comets at Payneham.

The Raiders’ triples rink of Chris Flavel, Don Bennett and Kathy Miller led the way for their side with a 10-shot win over the Comets’ trio of James Gregory, Tim Hicks and Damon Edmunds.

Mitch Percy and Jeff Krebbekx, of the Raiders, defeated Josh Chopin and Cassandra Harvey, of the Comets, by eight shots, while Tony Treloar also scored an eight-shot win in the singles for the Raiders against Stuart Forbes.
