Student run multi-generations event a winner at Cleve
Year 10 Business and Innovation student, Chloe Phelan, was required to run a community event or initiative and approached the Cleve District Bowling Club with a proposal to bring multiple generations together.
This proposal involved Chloe working together with the support of the bowling club and local school to put on a tournament.
This event was held on Sunday, November 7th, in ideal weather conditions.
Club coach, Colin Traeger, gave a small instructional lesson to new bowlers and organised a 2 bowl triples event for 24 players, while two club members took on giving instruction to 10 budding youngsters.
A Cleve Bowling Club member was full of praise for Chloe’s efforts in making the event happen.
“Chloe did a great job of running the event with great support from family, classmates and community who helped cook a sausage sizzle lunch, sell raffle tickets and run the spinning wheel,” the member said.
