Singles semi-finalists locked in

by admin on February 5, 2023

The final four of the MGA men’s country carnival singles competition are locked in following a huge day of action at Ascot Park and Grange today

Tomorrow’s semi-finals will see Moonta’s D. Bennett take on Port Neill’s K. Shepherd, while the other battle for a spot on the final will see Gumeracha’s B. Mullins do battle with Zinc Broken Hill’s P. Gageler.

Shepherd will head into tomorrow full of confidence after defeating men’s state squad member, J. Voigt, of Angaston, in the quarter finals by 10 shots, while also defeating past winner S. Eichenberger, of Berri in the round of 16.

Gageler finished the day strongly to overcome stiff competition, while Mullins held his nerve in a number of close matches to book his ticket to the final four.

All semi-finals and finals for the singles, pairs and fours will be held at the Marion Bowling Club tomorrow in what is set to be a huge day of action.

The singles and fours action is set to get under way from 9am tomorrow, while the pairs will start around 3pm, depending on the finish times of the fours and singles.
