ANNOUNCED: Senior Men’s Team – National Championships
Bowls SA is today pleased to announce the Senior Men’s Team, which will be representing South Australia at the upcoming Nationals event.
To be held in Perth, WA from October 10-13, at the Osborne Park Bowling Club, the state will send a strong contingent of players for the Australian Senior Sides Championships, including debutants Tony Lucas, Malcolm Squire, and Mark Wrigley to feature.
South Australia had four wins last year at the event, and team manager Peter Mueller is confident his senior men can improve that result in 2026.
“We’re very excited and I think we’ve picked a very good side. We’ve made a couple of changes,” he said.
“The year before last we won the event, but last year we struggled to adapt to the conditions in Tasmania.
“As a selector you just do your best, and if your side’s not winning, you have to make some changes.
“We’ve picked two new leaders, and a new number two and three, and we’re hoping they can make a big impact.
“I’m pretty confident we’re going to go alright, but it’s a very difficult competition, and those eastern states in particular are very strong.”
