SA Super League 2019 draft
The 2019 SA SUPER LEAGUE is coming back in August 2019. This is your opportunity to play with and against the best players in the state regularly, in a revolution for the sport of bowls in SA.
The competition has modernised bowls in SA with a fast paced, short seasoned format with initiatives such as super ends, different disciplines, weekly live streaming of matches, a weekly bowls show consisting of results, selections & match previews, a live player draft and a league best and fairest award!
Each team has been asked to retain six players who played for their squad in the previous season with squads still to ensure they meet the quotas of 6 local players (minimum 2 country/metro), 3 players of each gender and 1 under 18 at the completion of the draft. The retained players as selected by the coaches and selectors can be viewed here
This is the place to nominate for the live player draft, where you have the opportunity to be drafted by any one of the 8 teams and could be playing alongside the likes of state players Scott Thulborn, Cassandra Harvey and Wayne Ruediger. This year we have introduced a Wildcard draw – with the final spot in the roster for each team being drawn from players not yet drafted from the team’s zone clubs. So it doesn’t matter what your age, ability or club – EVERYONE has the opportunity to be selected and could play 2 games in the SA Super League. Nominating for the draft is completely free so what have you got to lose!

To nominate for the draft, please follow the prompts and fill in your details. Your nomination will then be compiled ready for consideration by the SA Super League team coaches on our official SA Super League draft date of Thursday June 6th 2019.

The Super League coaches will be making their squad selections which will be recorded in a live video on the Bowls SA Facebook page on Thursday June 6th, 2019 at 5:30pm. Make sure you tune into the video to see if you get selected and by which team!
*Please note players cannot withdraw their availability from the tournament if not selected by their desired franchise, doing so will attract a penalty from Bowls SA. Players can withdraw from the draft prior to it occurring by advising Bowls SA.
