SA Super League November 6th – SA Super League hits the road

by BowlsSA2 on November 5, 2020

Following on from last week’s successful introduction of women’s round (recap here), the SA Super League will hit the road this week, with matches being held across four different venues tomorrow night, Friday November 6th.

Round four action will see the Mallee Pirates taking on the Northern Knights at Modbury, the Western Rogues and the Central Chargers doing battle at Holdfast Bay, the Eastern Raiders and Heysen Comets facing off at Payneham and the Southern Blazers come up against the South Eastern Spartans at Ascot Park.

In selection news, Eastern Raiders captain Jeff Krebbekx comes in for his first league game of the season leading in the pairs in the match up against the Heysen Comets. The Comets have recalled Damon Edmunds from the reserves to lead in the triples as they search for their first win of the season.

Blue Chip player Simon Dorr has returned for the Mallee Pirates and will take on 2019 Andrew Smith medalist Will Mcpharlin of the Northern Knights in a mouth watering Singles affair. The Knights are sitting pretty at the top of the table whilst the Pirates will be keen to cause a boil over as they search for their first win.

The Southern Blazers have called upon Mclaren Vale pair Men’s State Coach Les Carter and State Emerging squad member Dylan Lewis to return to the league side in a must win affair to keep the team in touch with the top four.  In response the Spartans are going with a similar outfit to the one that saw them down the Mallee Pirates with Kevin Stock the only inclusion for Jodi Kotz in the singles.

To round out this weeks matches the Rogues and Chargers have both named strong line-ups for the match of the round, which will see eight of the twelve players having represented South Australia in their careers which will be a feast of talent.

Once again plenty of strong regional and metropolitan talent will be on display in the four reserves and under 21 matches this week as teams look to breakaway in the overall standings in what has been two very tightly contested competitions so far.
