SA Super League November 1st – Women’s Round

by BowlsSA2 on October 30, 2020

Following on from last weeks Successful double header launch of the  2020 season, the SA Super League (SASL) will celebrate its inaugural women’s round this Sunday November 1st, 2020.

Round three of the SASL, which will be held at the Salisbury Bowling Club, will see the women’s round held for the first ever time.

As part of the round, all teams have nominated female players to compete in the League and reserves singles matches.

SA Super League director Matthew Northcott said he was excited to see the concept in action this weekend.

“This Sunday will see our top women’s players in both the league and reserves competitions showcasing their skills with the limelight in the singles discipline,” he said.

“We thought it was important to celebrate the women in our great game and what better opportunity than a round of our SA Super League competition.”

“The singles discipline is often the feature of Super League matches and in the first two seasons of the SASL there has yet to be a female selected to play the singles. Whilst there is no doubt that there are quality female players pressing for a spot in the singles each week, this feature round is a way to showcase many of our best female players at once.”

Sunday’s League singles matches will see Yvonne Kelly, of the Central Chargers, take on Vicki Arbon of the second-placed Eastern Raiders in the Match of the Round.

Sue Coultas, of the ladder leading Northern Knights, will take on Chris Thulborn, of the Southern Blazers, while Jodi Kotz, of the South Eastern Spartans, will do battle with Vicki Degenhardt, of the Mallee Pirates.

Meanwhile, Cassandra Harvey, of the Heysen Comets, will come up against Cath Greenslade, of the Western Rogues.
