Bowls SA wishes to advise of a change to the South Australian Team selected for the upcoming Australian Sides Championships.
Unfortunately, Chris Carswell has been ruled ineligible to compete after a review of the Bowls Australia Conditions of Play and National Team Selection Policy.
Eligibility requirements for the Australian Sides Championships include meeting the criteria for Australian National Team selection, holding Australian citizenship, and other eligibility provisions relating to previous international representation.
As a result, Isaac Jesser has been added to the South Australian side.
Bowls SA congratulates Isaac on his selection. We know he will proudly represent South Australia, and we wish the entire team every success at the Championships.
We also thank Chris for his understanding and acknowledge the disappointment this decision brings.
The decision has been made solely to ensure compliance with the eligibility requirements set by Bowls Australia for this event.
To provide greater clarity for future selections, Bowls SA has also updated its State Team Expression of Interest process, and Player Agreement.
It will now include an explicit Australian citizenship requirement, ensuring alignment with the Bowls Australia National Team selection policy, and Australian Sides Championships Conditions of Play.
