Message from the President – CEO Announcement
Following a comprehensive recruitment process under the guidance of McArthur Recruitment for a new CEO Bowls SA, the board of management are both pleased and excited to announce that Manager Corporate and Member Services, Louise McDermott has been appointed to the role.
Lou has been with Bowls SA for 7 years in varying roles and in that time has established herself as a popular and respected member of the Bowls SA family. Currently performing the role of acting CEO, Lou has a very strong connection with the membership in general and has an extremely good working relationship with Bowls Australia and other state CEO’s.
President Tim Dodds said that Lou’s appointment is the right one and one that the membership will embrace.

Having watched, listened and worked with Lou on a day-to-day basis and in stakeholder meetings where her knowledge, her professionalism and dedication to the betterment of bowls has shone, Lou has earned and absolutely deserves her promotion to the role. Her people management and team building skills together with her passion for clubs and members sets up for an exciting and positive period ahead.”
On accepting the role, Lou says,

Lou has experience in sports management and over 20 years in financial management. Accomplished, versatile, and innovative leader with a proven track record of managing organisational resources. Excellent customer service to members via best-practice robust decision-making processes and effective risk management through all levels of the sport and organisation. Lou possesses solid business acumen, and a passion for continuous enhancement of our sport.
With the support of the dedicated Bowls SA staff, Isaac, Taylor, Anna, Michaela and Kerry, Lou is committed to continued strong governance and the drive to safeguard sustainable growth and development of bowls in SA in line with the strategic plan.
