Kingscote Pair Tie for Country Carnival Award

Kingscote Bowling Club’s Michelle Barrett and Judy Bell were crowned joint winners of the Women’s Country Carnival Player of the Year award at the recent 2023 – 2024 Bowls SA Awards Night.

The duo won the pairs title at this season’s event, while also making the semi-finals of the fours competition as part of the same rink.

Barrett said it felt good to be a joint winner of the award with her clubmate.

“I’m very honoured. It is a privilege to win the award, especially with Judy,” she said.

Barrett was full of praise for the yearly country carnival experience.

“We get to bring a few ladies over from the island and play together and stay together,” she said.

“It is good fun and you meet a lot of nice ladies.

“I would encourage any country bowlers to come and enjoy it, it is a good trip.”

Bell was unable to attend the awards night.
