Jim Roberts gains Bowls SA Life Membership
The late Jim Roberts will be honoured for his contribution to the sport of lawn bowls here in South Australia by being inducted as a Bowls SA life member at the upcoming awards night.
Jim is one of two new life members who will be inducted at the event on Friday, May 21.
Jim volunteered countless hours to Bowls SA through his service to various committees.
He was a mainstay on the Bowls SA Match and Program committee for more than ten years, in between this he also served as a regional councillor and regional state event manager for Region 7.
Whilst not directly a Bowls SA role, Jim was also Secretary of the GSBA for a large number of years prior to his passing.
Jim’s wife Barbara said it was “wonderful” to receive the news of her late husband’s induction as a Bowls SA life member.
“Bowls was a massive part of his life,” she said.
“We weren’t allowed to do anything on Saturdays because of bowls, that was how much he loved it.”
Bowls SA thanks Jim for his contribution to our sport and we look forward to acknowledging his efforts with his family at the upcoming awards night.
