Jayden takes charge of state under 18 boys
Jayden Zeller has been officially announced as the new South Australian under 18 boys coach.
Jayden takes over the role following the departure of Isaac Trenorden, who departed to take up a new role in Sydney.
A member of Club Holdfast, Jayden is part of the Pathways Jackaroos squad for 2021 and is a member of the SA Men’s Emerging squad.
Jayden said he was “very happy” to receive the news that he was successful in his application for the role.
“I am very keen to give it a crack and I can’t wait for the first training,” he said.
He said the job was the perfect next move as he develops his coaching skills.
“I thought it was a good opportunity to get into more coaching,” he said.
“I did a bit of Coachzone, so this will be great to build on that working with the under 18s.
“It is a good stepping stone for me and it is a chance to pass on some of my knowledge and experiences and help them develop.”
Jayden said he is looking forward to working with the plethora of young talent in South Australia.
“There is lots of talent in that squad and Matt and Isaac, the past coaches, have done well,” he said.
“Hopefully we can go into nationals and show what we have to offer and why everyone should be excited for the future of bowls in South Australia.”
Maintaining a balance between on green and off green activities will be the key to Jayden’s coaching philosophy.
“I like to use drills, but also talking about how to approach different games and scenarios,” he said.
“I just like to keep that balance of talking about things and actually getting out on the green and practicing.
“Hopefully I can pass on some of what I have learnt over the years.”
