Jarman Crowned Top Male Junior
Adelaide’s Kobe Jarman’s promising talent was recognised with the 2023 – 24 Under 18 Boys Player of the Year award at the recent Bowls SA Awards night.
Jarman said it felt pretty good to win the award.
“Ever since I started playing bowls it’s been my dream to become the best player I can,” he said.
Jarman acknowledged some of the key figures who have helped his game since he took up the sport at a younger age than most.
“Scotty (Thulborn) has been great since I’ve been at Adelaide,” he said.
“He’s helped me with my technique, but it’s been more the mental side.
“He has helped elevate my game because all of the advice he has given me has gotten me through some important games.
“Dad has been great as well with everything he has done for me.
“He always talks about the game and makes me feel better about it.
“Also, Bob from my old club, he really helped me from when I started playing when I was just nine years old.”
The talented youngster has lofty ambitions when it comes to his future on the greens.
“I want to eventually play for Australia,” he said.
“It’s a dream of mine and I’ve got a couple of big tournaments coming up, so if I can do well in them then maybe it could happen one day.
“For now, I just love playing with my mates.”
