Harmony Day event a winner yet again at Glenelg
The Glenelg Bowling Club’s recent Harmony Day event has been labelled a success by organisers.
The event, which was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 restrictions, made a triumphant return last Friday.
Club president Mark McKay said “the day went well”.
“We introduced the sport to a few people that have seen it before passing by but had never thought about participating,” he said.
“It was a good first step getting those people involved with the sport.”
Mark said he was proud to see the event return this year after not being able to go ahead with last year’s plans.
“It was good to get it back up and running,” he said.
“People want the opportunity to get outside and it was a lovely day, with lots of fun in the sunshine.”
Mark said the club is looking at how it can grow the event over the coming years.
“We probably need to interact a little bit more with some of our community leaders,” he said.
“I believe it is a great sport for people that are craving a bit of outdoor activity and social interaction.”
