Flavel one step closer to Commonwealth Games
Lockleys’ Chris Flavel is one step closer to representing Australia at the Commonwealth Games, after being selected as part of a 10-person para-squad to take part in a Bowls Australia internal preparation camp next year.
Flavel, and nine of his fellow Para-Jackaroos squad members, will head to Queensland in January for a three-day camp.
The squad members will be looking to impress coaches and selectors as preparations ramp up for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham later in the year.
Meanwhile, Kate Argent-Bowden, Nathan Black and Joshua Studham have been selected in a 20-person squad from the Emerging and Pathways Jackaroos to also head to Queensland and compete against the Jackaroos, who will also be on trial as they continue their build up for the Commonwealth Games.
The camp will give the talented youngsters from South Australia a chance to impress national coaches and selectors.
