Finals match-ups locked in as minor round comes to a close

The 2020 SA Super League minor round came to a close last Friday night, with a massive double header being held across two separate venues.

Round six and seven matches were played at both Salisbury and Holdfast Bay.

The Western Rogues clinched the minor premiership with wins over the Eastern Raiders and Southern Blazers at Holdfast Bay, with Ashley Klose and Carl Schapel leading the way in the pairs.

Despite losing their round seven clash with the Heysen Comets, a round six win over the South Eastern Spartans at Salisbury, was enough to help the Central Chargers secure second spot and a double chance.

The Northern Knights narrowly missed the top two, after defeating the Heysen Comets in round six, but losing to the South Eastern Spartans in round seven.

Even with losses to the Western Rogues in round six and the Mallee Pirates in round seven, the Eastern Raiders held onto fourth position, finishing six points ahead of the fifth-placed South Eastern Spartans.

The Southern Blazers finished the season a further four points back in sixth, while the Mallee Pirates and Heysen Comets rounded out the final ladder in seventh and eighth respectively.

The South Eastern Spartans clinched the reserves minor premiership, finishing one point ahead of the Mallee Pirates, while the Northern Knights and Western Rogues finished third and fourth respectively.

The Mallee Pirates finished on top of the under 21 ladder, three points ahead of the South Eastern Spartans, while the Central Chargers and Western Rogues finished third and fourth respectively.
