Entries Open for State Events, with major prize money on the line
Entries for a number of the Bowls SA 2021/22 State Events are now officially open, with up to $35,000 of prize money up for grabs this season.
These events, which are open to all members of Bowls SA affiliated clubs, are the Sports Centre State Singles, State Pairs, State Triples, State Fours, State Mixed Pairs, and State Over 60’s Pairs.
Bowls SA Events and Competitions Coordinator Isaac Trenorden said it is an exciting time to be able to open up entries.
“We know how much members across South Australia enjoy playing in our State Events, so it is great to be able to open up all of these events at once for entries this early in the season,” he said.
“This gives players maximum amount of time to arrange their teams for another big season of bowls in SA”
“I would definitely encourage any and all bowlers out there to enter a State Event, as it is a great experience, a great way to help develop your game, and you meet so many great people and competitors along the way.”
Isaac believes the talent within our State Events calls for some strong competition, but highlights how the sport is progressing in South Australia.
“Not only are there bragging rights among friends on the line if you become a State champion, but there are also national pathways to represent South Australia and your club on the big stage,” he said.
“We appreciate the time and dedication that all of the competitors in our State Events put in, so it is great to be able to offer prize money as we strive to be bigger and better every year.”
The State Fours is the first event on the 2021/22 calendar, with entries closing on October 10, before the action gets under way on October 24.
