Country Round Robin Events Postponed
Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 restrictions in South Australia, Bowls SA has decided to postpone both the Men’s and Women’s Country Round Robin events.
This decision was reached in consultation with Regional State Event Managers, State Event Committee members, and relevant external stakeholders, and reflects the fact that Bowls SA cannot safely run these events in accordance with the State Government’s Level 1 restrictions that limit the density within a venue (club).
Unfortunately, with the restrictions being 1/4 density for indoor spaces, not having enough clubs at this stage to host the 4-day events, and sadly volunteers within clubs having been impacted unable to assist with hosting events due to contracting COVID-19 or becoming a close contact all contributed to this decision.
The health and safety of all members, and the bowls community is of paramount concern and considered too great a risk at this time.
The Events team are reviewing tentative dates and securing additional host clubs and will advise of new close of entry dates and any other information required in the coming days.
