Country Round Robin Breakthrough Day

by Marketing on February 4, 2021

In the lead up to the Breakthrough Community Round on February 13 and 14, day three (Thursday, February 11) of the Country Round Robin next week will be a Breakthrough Day.

Bowls SA is a proud partner of the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation in the battle against mental illness in the bowls community and wider society.

The Breakthrough Day will be all about raising funds and creating discussion about mental health and the importance of looking after ourselves and others in the community.

Bowls SA Operations Manager Matthew Northcott said the Country Round Robin presented an important opportunity to continue the message of how important looking after your mental health is and how the bowls community can support the work being done to combat mental illness.

“The Country Round Robin is a great event and it always enjoyable to see everyone from the country out on the greens and competing in great spirit,” he said.

“It is important to use this opportunity with having so many of our country members in the one place to emphasise the importance of mental health.

“Breakthrough do great work and we are really pleased to be partnered with them as we all continue to battle against mental illness.

“If we can create some discussion and get bowlers thinking about mental health, then we are succeeding.”

The Country Round Robin will run from Tuesday to Friday next week, with matches being played at Lockleys and Marion.
