2026 Senior Supa Series – Copper Coast Champions Crowned

by Marketing on September 11, 2026

THE brilliant Senior Supa Series was held earlier this week on the picturesque Copper Coast, with three venues utilised.

The event, held across Kadina, Moonta, and Wallaroo, sold out weeks prior to the event starting, as players across metropolitan and regional South Australia flocked to the local clubs.

Day One – Kadina

Featuring 96 players on day one, it was the four of Bob Burton, Rob Farrell, John Higgins and Chris Firth leading the way with a perfect 4–0 record, scoring 62 shots across the day, with a third of their shots coming from a 20-8 win, they claim an impressive +30 shot differential.

Paul Davies, Rob Flavel, Mal Squire and Darryl Steinwiedel were equally dominant, also unbeaten at 4–0 while conceding just 22 shots across their four matches, but with +23 they will place second. Karen Sander, Yvonne Bekeris, Eric Standley and Rob Walton sit just behind with three wins and a draw and +26 placing third.

Day Two – Moonta

Day two’s winners were the four of Gary Julian, Bruce Bate, and Alister Beheena, of Adelaide, plus Port Noarlunga’s Rick Hilder.

The four were one of two teams to finish the day at Moonta with an undefeated 4-0 record, but had a greater score difference to claim victory.

Finishing with a score difference of 37, the team bettered Moonta locals Jenny Emmerton, Tony Emmerton, Jeff Williams, and Margaret Chandler, who also went 4-0, but landed a score difference of 22.

Moonta took to social media following the event to thank those who played, as well as those who assisted in bringing it to life.

“What a fantastic three days of bowls,” the club said.

“A huge congratulations to all of our Moonta players who took part in the very successful Senior Supa Series over the last three days at Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo.

“A special congratulations to all our members who picked up wins along the way, and to those who just narrowly missed out — sometimes it’s only a bowl or two between a win and a loss.

“Thank you for representing our club so well, supporting each other and helping make it such a great few days of bowls.”

Day Three – Wallaroo

Wallaroo’s event was arguably the most exciting of the three days, capping off a sensational competition on the Copper Coast.

Winning 27 ends, it was Sue and Robert Hutchinson (Hahndorf), alongside Edithburgh RSL and Bowling Club duo Janet and Dan Tucker who stole the spoils.

While the quartet failed to claim victory in all four of its matches, they remained undefeated after a draw occurred.

It took the four to a score difference of 40 overall, including a points total of 3.50, seeing them claim an outright victory.

Congratulations to the Champions

Congratulations to all players on their outstanding performances and well-deserved championship victories.

A sincere thank you to all three clubs for hosting this year’s event, along with the officials and volunteers whose efforts ensured another successful Senior Supa Series.

We look forward to another exciting competition next season, where demand is expected to be high again.
