Clare Bowling Club goes pink for good cause

The Clare Bowling Club was a sea of pink last Thursday to support an important cause.

Members donned all sorts of pink attire to help raise nearly $300 to go towards the battle against childhood cancer.

The charity round is an annual part of the Broughton Thursday Pennant Association season, with clubs raising a total of nearly $900 this year.

Clare Bowling Club secretary Rae Gierke said it is “always a successful day”.

“Every club does a spider and each club works out something different to put out in the middle of their green for players to bowl towards,” she said.

“There is just lots of that sort of stuff for people to have fun.

“Everyone dresses up in pink and has a great time.

“Especially the men, they dress up in tutus, pink wigs, pink shirts and whatever else they can find.

“They really make the most of it each year.”
