Champion of Champions Singles Winners Crowned
The 2021/22 Champion of Champions Singles State champions were crowned today after a big weekend of action.
After winning the Sports Centre State Singles earlier in the year, Somerton’s Nathan Pedersen reaffirmed his position as the top male singles player in the State by overcoming a talent-packed field to claim the title.
Pedersen defeated Club Holdfast’s Matthew Northcott in the quarter finals, before taking down Adelaide’s Scott Thulborn to progress to the decider.
Kapunda’s Adrian Green made his way through to the final after overcoming Laura’s Todd Brand and Grange’s Tyson Wilson in two close contests.
The final was a tight affair early, before Pedersen finished with eight shots in four ends to clinch victory.

Just like Pedersen, Adelaide’s Laini McGorman backed up her Sports Centre State Singles title from earlier in the season by winning the women’s Champion of Champions Singles.
McGorman overcame Cummins’ Ally Baldock in the quarter finals, before defeating Amanda Raffan, of Yacka, in the semi-finals.
She would face Port Broughton’s Debbie Dennis, who defeated Salisbury’s Josette Hemlin in the quarter finals and Novar Gardens’ Sandra Broom in the semi-finals.
The final was a see-sawing contest with a number of momentum swings before McGorman finished strong to claim the title.
