Busy day of singles action

Competition for one of the most sought-after titles in South Australian bowls got underway today, with singles sectionals leading the MGA women’s country carnival action.

More than 50 bowlers from across the state took part in 13 sections across Adelaide today.

A regular fixture of singles bowls competitions in South Australia, Mallala’s Yvonne Kelly put on a clinical display to finish undefeated in section one at Modbury.

Curramulka’s C. Thompson and Murray Bridge RSL’s K. Kneebone also progressed from the same venue.

Goolwa’s R. Callisto finished her section at Marion undefeated and won her knockout match to progress to the business end of the singles competition.

Kapunda’s K. Green and Arthurton’s G. Moloney also won their way through to the final eight.

Tomorrow’s pairs sectionals action kicks off at 9:30am, with matches to be played at the Brighton, Ascot Park, Kensington-Marryatville and Salisbury bowling clubs.
