Brighton Bowling Club goes green
In trying to do their part for the environment, Brighton Bowling Club has introduced some green initiatives.
Led by Yvonne Souness, the club has purchased several recycling bins and decomposable cups and plates that it is using around the club to help the environment.
The club has placed several bins strategically around the club, by the urns and water fountains, and within the kitchen, all with clear information regarding what goes in each bin.
The City of Holdfast Bay has kindly donated several large green bins to assist with the compostable items, including all the grass cuttings from the three bowling greens.
The club has provided education around the initiative at recent training sessions, home pennant matches, and night owls in a bid to make sure members are also doing their part when at the club and at home.
