The South Australian qualifying tournament for the Australian Indoor Championships was held over the weekend.

The men’s competition included 45 competitors, while the women’s had 15, making for the highest number of entrants for the event in recent years.

Three venues were used for sectional matches on Saturday, with those being Mount Barker, Torrensville and Salisbury, with the latter two venues hosting the men’s and women’s knockout matches, respectively.

The men’s competition saw McLaren Vale’s Justin Kelly claim victory in the final against Riverton’s Neil Rogers.

There was more luck for Riverton in the women’s final, with Cath Greenslade defeating Somerton’s Yvonne Bekeris.

Justin and Cath will now travel to the Tweed Heads Bowling Club in Queensland in August for the Australian Indoor Championships.
