A successful Coach Development Day

The Bowls SA Coaching & Junior Committee are pleased to report on a successful Coach Development Day held at Woodville Bowling Club on Friday 28th of September.
34 members from clubs right around the state attended the day and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to network with other coaches, participate in activities and share ideas, all with the aim of growing the interest in and raising the standard of coaching in South Australia.
The members were firstly treated to a presentation from Advanced level coach Terry White from the Woodville Bowling club who strongly discussed theories on how coaches can improve their methodology as well as on green work to show coaches how they can technically improve their members deliveries. The members were all fully engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the experience that Terry was able to provide.
After lunch, the day shifted towards gaining a greater understanding of on green drills and games that clubs can utilize to assist in training. Members were shown a variety of different drills and games then given the opportunity to participate in them. To conclude the day, members had the opportunity to share ideas and practices from their own club.
At the conclusion of the day all members would have walked away with some new knowledge and ideas to implement at their club, as well as the satisfaction of a very enjoyable day. The Bowls SA Coaching & Junior Committee would like to thank Terry for his time and effort to present as a volunteer, in addition to the Woodville Bowling Club and its committee members for being fantastic hosts.
Another Coach Development Day will be held after the Christmas break, so keep your eyes out for an announcement of the date and inclusions for that day.
