A call to arms to support Lucindale

by BOWLSSA7 on January 28, 2021

Following a recent bushfire, which devastated the Lucindale community, a relief fund has been established to help those effected.

With several members of the bowling community experiencing loss of property, infrastructure and stock, members of the public are being asked to donate to the Lucindale Fire Relief Fund.

Bowls SA CEO Mark Easton said it was important to support those in and around Lucindale during this tough time.

“This is a call to arms for our bowling community to consider raising funds and donating to support those around Lucindale effected by the recent bushfire,” he said.

“The bowls community always comes together to support those going through tough times and this is another case where we are urging players, clubs and associations to dig deep.

“All funds will go to the Lucindale Bowling Club and its surrounding community members that have been greatly impacted by these fires, to assist with rebuilding their community.”

Recently, members of the Adelaide Crows playing squad made the trip down to the area to visit with and help raise money for those effected by the fires.

As part of the visit, Taylor Walker, Lachlan Sholl, Kieran Strachan and Jackson Hately stopped in at the Lucindale Bowling Club to deliver a signed guernsey to club member Neil Watts, who lost his home in the fires.
