2024-25 State Over 60’s Pairs & Mixed Pairs Champions Crowned
Bowlers from across South Australia gathered for the 2024–25 State Over 60s Pairs and Mixed Pairs Championships from April 28 to May 2. Held at various bowling clubs throughout metropolitan Adelaide, the competition saw strong participation and high-quality bowls across all events.
- 23 Women’s Pairs competed across 6 sections
- 84 Men’s Pairs competed across 21 sections
- 73 Mixed Pairs competed across 19 sections
Despite one rainy day, the weather largely held up, allowing for smooth competition throughout the week. All finals were played on Friday at Lockleys Bowling Club, wrapping up an exciting tournament in fine style.
Over 60s State Mixed Pairs Champions
In a thrilling mixed pairs grand final, Michelle Barrett and Robert Barrett of Kingscote Bowling Club narrowly lost to Joan Prosser and Colin Watkins of Hawthorn Bowling Club, with a final score of 15 shots to 14.

Women’s Over 60s State Pairs Champions
In the women’s final, Lee Robinson (Milang Bowling Club) and Renata Callisto (Goolwa Bowling Club) claimed victory with a dominant performance, defeating Raelene Heitmann and Vicki Arbon (both from Modbury Bowling Club) 20 shots to 13.

Men’s Over 60s State Pairs Champions
In the men’s final, Streaky Bay Bowling Club’s Clifford Edmunds and Mark Wrigley, substituting for the unavailable Michael Veall (Clarendon Bowling Club), edged out Stephen Jones and Ash Halls (both from Lockleys Bowling Club) in a closely contested match, winning 11 shots to 8.
