2023-24 Multi-Disability Pairs Champions
Over the weekend at Port Noarlunga Bowling Club a field of nine pairs teams competed in the 2023-24 Multi Disabilities State Championships – Para Pairs.
In the first round of the finals this morning, with a chill in the air but not a cloud in the sky, the Victor Harbor duo of Tom Gibbs and Graeme Robertson triumphed over the Morphett Vale pair of Michael Emberton and Andrew Reed in a close match, 10 shots to 7, while Aaron Emonson (Millicent) / Chris Flavel (Lockleys) secured a decisive victory in their first round final against Port Noarlunga’s home team of John Swarbrick / Vanessa Wildy, 16 shots to 7.
Facing only one serious challenge throughout the championship, the Aaron Emonson / Chris Flavel combination emerged victorious in the gold medal match by defeating the pair of Tom Gibbs / Graeme Robertson 11 shots to 4, earning them the title of 2023-24 Multi Disabilities State Championships – Para Pairs Champions.
