2020 SA Super League Launch
The SA Super League is back for 2020!
In exciting news the league is set for its third and most grand showing yet when the season kicks off on October 16, 2020. The Central Chargers will be hoping to defend their title after victory in the 2019 SA Super League Grand Final over inaugural champions the Heysen Comets.
Along with a shift in season for the staging of the tournament, there are also some changes to the format which promise to make 2020 a year to remember.
The 2020 SA Super League will see:
- Shorter match days
- Improved live streaming covering the entirety of a match of the round
- Squads extended to 15 players
- SA Super League and SA Super League reserves competitions
- A separate squad of up to 5 players competing in the SA Super League under 21 competition
- Reduced squad selection requirements
- A high quality local bowls event with the best players playing each other more regularly
2020 SA Super League key dates:
- 1 July 2020 – Draft nominations open
- 31 July 2020 – Retained players announced
- 31 July 2020 – Draft nominations close
- 7 August 2020 – Free agency signings announced
- 12 August 2020 – 2020 SA Super League draft

Round 1 – Friday October 16, 2020
Round 2 – Sunday October 25, 2020
Round 3 – Sunday November 1, 2020
Round 4 – Friday November 6, 2020
Round 5 – Friday November 13, 2020
Round 6 – Friday November 20, 2020
Round 7 – Sunday November 29, 2020
Semi / Elimination final – Friday December 4, 2020
Preliminary Final – Friday December 11, 2020
Grand Final – Friday December 18, 2020
