2020 SA Super League Grand final match-ups locked in

by Marketing on December 14, 2020

The stage is set for the 2020 SA Super League grand finals to be played on Friday December 18th following a huge finals double header at Salisbury last Friday night (11/12).

The Western Rogues progressed directly to the league decider with a win over the Central Chargers in the semi-final.

The Rogues won on all three rinks, with Simon Geater-Johnson defeating Ben Bowman in the singles,  Ashley Klose and Carl Schapel defeating Craig Mills and Bailey Rafferty in the pairs, and Max Kleinig, Josh Studham and Jayden Zeller rounding out the clean sweep, scoring a win over Mark Haines, Brenton Bain and Bradley Pech in the triples.

On the adjacent rinks, The Eastern Raiders kept their season alive with a win over the Northern Knights in the elimination final.

The Raiders claimed victory on all three rinks, with Tony Treloar defeating Todd Brand in the singles,  Craig Goldfinch and Neville Mansell defeated Bernie Ward and Sue Coultas in the pairs, and Mitch Percy, Chris Flavel and Michael Lodge registered a win over Kane Coulls, Laini McGorman and Jack Trenorden in the triples.

This saw the Raiders come up against the Chargers in the preliminary final, with the latter coming away victorious after a tight contest, in which they re-shuffled their line-up following the earlier loss.

Craig Goldfinch and Neville Mansell did their best to keep the Raiders in the contest with a five-shot win over Ben Bowman and Brenton Bain in the pairs.

However a four-shot win to Mark Haines over Tony Treloar in the singles and a nine-shot win by Craig Mills, Bradley Pech and Bailey Rafferty over Mitch Percy, Chris Flavel and Michael Lodge in the triples were enough to help the Chargers claim overall victory and book a rematch with the Rogues.

Meanwhile, in the reserves the South Eastern Spartans defeated the Mallee Pirates in the semi-final, and Northern Knights knocked off the Rogues in the elimination final.

The Knights continued their good form in the preliminary final, defeating the Pirates to set up a Grand Final clash with the Spartans.

The Pirates had more luck in the under 21s, winning straight through to the grand final with a dominant performance against the Spartans, while the Rogues were too good for the Chargers in the elimination final.

The Rogues then defeated the Spartans in the preliminary final to book their spot in the decider.
